Jorginho Rooter joined Brighton from Leeds United last summer. The player reflects on his first exciting season with the club. The 23-year-old Frenchman made 28 appearances in the Premier League, contributing five goals and three assists.  

When asked what he thought of the Premier League, Giorginio Rutter said: "Every game is challenging because every team is strong and has top players, so there are no easy opponents in the Premier League. Even against the teams at the bottom of the rankings, we were not able to win easily, which fully shows how intense the competition is."  

"At this level of competition, any mistake will be severely punished, and the risk of making a mistake in the Championship is relatively high. The Premier League requires higher self-discipline and stronger game intensity."  

“When I played at Leeds United, we had to win every game, which brought a lot of pressure because we wanted to repay the fans for their support. So when I came here, I was better prepared and more able to keep a positive attitude.  

“Before that, I was at a big club and I moved there for a lot of money, and that experience helped me a lot. Although my first season there was average, my second season was a big improvement. I felt more comfortable after that, and I’ve been doing that since I came here.”  

“Although I didn’t play for long, it was invaluable to be able to step onto the pitch for the first time in the Premier League and feel the atmosphere at the Amex Stadium. We scored the winning goal and it was a great feeling to be there and to be part of the team and to contribute to getting those three important points.”  

When asked how important Danny Welbeck is to him, Jorginho Root replied: "He is older, more experienced and helps me a lot as a player who plays well up front and encourages his teammates."  

"He works hard for the team and is the perfect person to be a teammate. He is a role model for all the young players and is excellent both in training and off the court. I am very grateful to be able to work alongside him in training and in games."  

“I know I still have room for improvement. This is my first season at Brighton and my first time in the Premier League, so there is still a lot to learn. Every time I play, I am more aware of my strengths and weaknesses and try my best to learn from experience. Although I feel frustrated sometimes, it may be because I have too much or not enough possession of the ball. In terms of defense and tactical execution, I still need to improve, so I actively train with the coach and teammates and try to learn a lot of valuable knowledge.”
