In the final moments, Watkins was brought down by Erakovic while receiving a pass from Rashford, giving England a penalty kick. Rashford converted the penalty, giving England a 5-0 away victory over Serbia. With their fifth consecutive victory, England currently holds the top spot in Group K with 15 points, and their chances of qualifying for the World Cup finals look promising.

England coach Tuchel said in an interview, "I am very happy for the team. We have had a very good week and the players have proved everything I have seen in daily training. We are full of intensity and work hard. This is the purest team spirit, and because of this we have shown our quality."

"We didn't allow Serbia any chances to shoot on target, which requires a lot of effort. It takes a lot of intensity in the confrontation and a lot of invisible efforts that are often not praised. But we supported each other, ran, gave and worked hard in all positions on the field. It was a really great game."

Tuchel also said: "Every game is different. We held a meeting at the beginning and accumulated experience in the first two training camps. We only trained for three weeks, which is usually only equivalent to half a pre-season preparation period. In between these three weeks, there was also a rest period. After the first two training camps, we chose to start from scratch. The first training camp was very good, and the second was average."

"We learned from our experience and started over, so the players understood their roles in the system. Then we gave them the responsibility to implement it. They did a great job, and all the credit goes to them. They performed really well, and that's the standard we set."
