Jarrod Bowen admitted that the result was disappointing, as the team did not reach the level they had shown in recent weeks.

Jarrod Bowen stated that one defeat should not affect West Ham United's recent resurgence. Previously, the team lost 0-2 to Aston Villa in the Premier League, but this was only their third loss in their last 13 matches across all competitions. Despite failing to secure points at Villa Park and their overall performance falling short of their recent form, the captain remains confident that the confidence gained over the past two and a half months will lay the foundation for further improvement after the international break.

West Ham United will face Leeds United in the FA Cup quarter-final on Easter, followed by a Premier League match against Wolves. Wins in both games could significantly alter the team's prospects. Jarrod Bowen said: "The final result is disappointing, and whatever the reason, I think the team failed to live up to the level they've shown in the last few weeks."

"Obviously, our opponents were a very good team, but we were also in good form. We hoped to perform even better than we did today, but unfortunately we couldn't."

Jarrod Bowen expressed his dissatisfaction with the way West Ham United conceded their opening goal. The short free-kick combination culminated in John McGinn curling a shot into the net from the edge of the box, and Bowen also criticized the team's defensive approach.

He continued, “We know our competitors are very creative. I think we realized that even before we reminded ourselves to cherish every moment of life. Whatever the goal may be, I think we may have missed too many opportunities in the actual execution.”

"As a whole, our defense was inadequate and failed to effectively contain our opponents. We knew their strengths; they tried to break through the middle, but we couldn't stop them, giving them too many opportunities. On other matchdays, those opportunities might have led to more goals and a more lopsided score."

West Ham United were forced to change their starting lineup after Jean-Clair Todibo was injured during pre-match warm-ups, with Freddie Potts replacing him. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo switched the formation from 5-2-3 to 4-3-3, but the team ultimately failed to control the tempo of the game against Aston Villa.

Jarrod Bowen continued, "It was definitely a blow, but it can't be used as an excuse, and the result or performance shouldn't be blamed on it. I think the strength of this team, as I said when we won before, is team spirit. Every player is eager to play and ready to seize opportunities."

"We can't use this as an excuse. We have to face reality now. Whatever the reason, our performance is not good enough. But we have put in a lot of effort to get to where we are today. The team has played well and achieved some encouraging results in the past few months."

"Today's result was not ideal, but we cannot be discouraged by it. There are many games waiting for us when we come back. We need to rest well now , and let the players who left go. When we come back, we still have a chance to advance to the FA Cup semi-finals, followed by important Premier League matches."

“Sunday’s game was disappointing, a real blow, but we can’t forget what we’ve all been working towards. This season has been tough for everyone, but we must keep going and give it our all when we get back. As I said, there are two more home games to go, which are crucial, and we must stay united.”
