West Ham United striker Jarrod Bowen says he knows he is "good enough" to represent the Three Lions after missing out on another England cap.
Despite his recent hot form, Bowen was not included in Thomas Tuchel's latest England squad. In the 3-1 win over Ipswich, he contributed a goal and an assist, continuing his excellent performance. This was his fourth consecutive game to score, and he has created eight goals in the last six games. He has now accumulated 13 goals and 10 assists in the league.
During the match at Portman Road, Hammers fans sang: "Bowen is too good for England to use him", expressing their strong dissatisfaction with his failure to be selected for the national team.
Facing the topic of being unselected, Bowen responded: "These things will come to light. There are many rumors about my failure to be selected, such as because of the wedding, but the fact is that I did not receive the call-up, and I am mature enough to accept this."
"For me, it's not about proving anything to anybody, it's just about proving it to myself - I know I have it and all I do is give it my all on the pitch."
"Goals and assists are something I am very proud of, I like having that responsibility and I enjoy the role."
"The fans always make up all kinds of songs for me, which is very special. Now it's time to enjoy the offseason, and next season I will start again and go all out."
