Brighton's defeat to Arsenal has led Schulzler to believe their attacking style in the penalty area could have been better.

Brighton & Hove Albion, nicknamed "The Seagulls," suffered a 0-1 defeat to Arsenal in a key match of the 30th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season, failing to change the score despite conceding a goal in the first half. Schürrle stated that his team could have created more chances during the game and that there was room for improvement in their attacking play in the penalty area.

Nine minutes into the game, Saka received a pass from Timber and curled a shot into the net, giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead.

Brighton ultimately lost 0-1 at home to Arteta's Arsenal. After two wins and three losses in their last five matches, Brighton currently sits in 14th place in the league table with 37 points.

Brighton manager André Schürlzer said, "We had two or three very good chances, but ultimately failed to finish them off, and I think that's the only thing we lacked in this game. We created a lot of chances, but we didn't give the opposition many opportunities. I think Arsenal only had one shot on target, and otherwise posed almost no threat. So overall, it was a good performance, and my team put in a lot of effort."

"We are very disappointed with the result, but it is indeed very difficult to score against a defense like Arsenal's."

Furthermore, Schürlzer added, "I think we found many ways to deal with them during the match and created quite a few chances. It's just that we weren't decisive and composed enough in our attacking third. If we had been calmer and more accurate in the final stages, we could have created even more opportunities."

"We could still do better in key moments, in our passing and touches, and in the way we attacked the penalty area, but I think we actually had enough chances to win this game."
