Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson talked about teammate Anthony Davis in a podcast interview, praising the star for being a very strong power forward as long as he stays healthy.

Anthony Davis, 32, was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks in February of this year. He played 9 games for the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024/25 NBA regular season, averaging 20.0 points per game, 46.1% shooting percentage, and 23.3% three-point shooting percentage.

Klay Thompson said, "When Anthony Davis is healthy, he is the best power forward, perhaps the best of my generation. Everyone has seen his ability with the Los Angeles Lakers. He is an offensive and defensive forward. There are few inside players who can handle the ball, block shots and shoot like him."

"I think as long as we stay healthy, we have the best frontcourt in the NBA. With P.J. Washington, Cooper Flagg, Daniel Gafford and Anthony Davis, they make our forward depth even better, and the guard depth as well, so I'm excited."

Klay Thompson also talked about the challenges he faced in past matches against Kyrie Irving. He shared, "It's great to be teammates with Kyrie Irving. I played against him many times when I was with the Golden State Warriors. We met the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Finals for four consecutive years, and three of those times were against Kyrie Irving."

"I'll never forget it, guarding the best offensive players, guys like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Isaiah, it's just overwhelming, and the same thing with Kyrie Irving. He shot 17 of 24 on me in the game before and scored 42 points. I'll never forget that game."

Klay Thompson continued, "I tried different methods, but I still couldn't stop him. He has almost no weaknesses in the game."
