Lazio announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has extended the contract of its former Spain international veteran winger Pedro.

According to Lazio's official statement, Pedro has signed on a new short-term one-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2026.

About Pedro

Pedro, 37, was born on July 28, 1987 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. He is 1.69 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger. He can also play as a left winger or attacking midfielder.

Pedro joined the youth academy of non-league club San Isidro at the age of 8. In 2004, he moved to Barcelona's famous La Masia youth academy. Three years later, he began to play for the Barcelona B team and completed his Barcelona first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in January 2008.

During his eight-year spell with the Blaugrana, Pedro won the La Liga 5 times, the Copa del Rey 4 times, the Supercopa de España 4 times, the UEFA Champions League 3 times, the UEFA Super Cup 3 times and the FIFA Club World Cup 2times.

In August 2015, Pedro joined Chelsea for £21.4 billion.

During his five-year spell with the Blues, Pedro won the Premier League once, the English FA Cup once, the UEFA Europa League once as well as reaching the Carabao Cup final twice.

After leaving the club when his contract had expired in August 2020, Pedro joined Roma as a free agent. During this spell, he reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League and the Round of 16s of the Coppa Italia.

In August of the following year, Pedro moved to Lazio as a free agent.

Since becoming a member of I Biancocelesti, Pedro has made 176 appearances for the Serie A powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 34 goals and providing 17 assists.
