Leeds United announced on Saturday that Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri has joined from Lyon on a four-year contract until June 30, 2029.
Multiple media outlets confirmed that Perry's transfer fee was approximately 18 million euros.
The 27-year-old Lucas Perry came from the Sao Paulo youth training, but he rarely had a chance to play in the early stages of his career. As a result, he was loaned to Crystal Palace and Nautico by Sao Paulo, and moved to Botafogo for 250,000 euros in August 2022.
During his time at Botafogo, Perry made 67 appearances, kept 31 clean sheets, and won a Rio Cup with the team. In January 2024, he joined Lyon from Botafogo for 6.5 million euros. So far, he has made 49 appearances and kept 15 clean sheets.
After completing the transfer, Perry said: "I feel great. Joining Leeds United means a lot to me. Thank you all for your trust and warm welcome. This is incredible and a dream come true."
"I've watched the Premier League since I was a kid and have seen so many goalkeepers play and succeed in the Premier League. They are all incredible."
"I see this as a great challenge and an incredible opportunity. I'm very happy and focused on giving my best at Leeds United."
