Real Mallorca have announced that goalkeeper Lucas Bergström has completed his move to the club and signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2027.  

The young goalkeeper previously played in Chelsea's youth training system and has played for the Blues youth team since 2019. He has also accumulated practical experience at Peterborough United and Brommapokana in Sweden.  

Lukas Bergström is the second Finnish player to play for Real Mallorca after Mika Lipponen. He is also one of the tallest goalkeepers in European football. As a Finnish international, he played in the European Youth Championship with the U21 national team this summer.  

After signing, Lucas Bergström said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Real Mallorca. Having just finished my time at Chelsea, I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter here, meeting my teammates and staff as soon as possible and working together to drive the club forward.”  

“I spent almost seven years there, having joined the club at the age of 16. Starting in the academy and eventually playing for the first team for two seasons was a very meaningful experience for me. It will always be a very special journey in my life. Many coaches and teammates who I have worked with over the years have given me a lot of help and pushed me to continue to grow.”  

When talking about his technical characteristics, Lucas Bergstrom said: "My height is an obvious advantage. I am 2.05 meters tall, which is easy to notice. I am good at using this to attack actively, receive the ball steadily, and effectively control the penalty area to minimize the opponent's shooting space."  

"Yesterday I met Pablo Torre, who signed the day before I arrived. He is the only player I have met in the team and I look forward to meeting him again tomorrow."  

“I think modern football places more and more emphasis on ball possession, but I am very much looking forward to continuing to learn and improve here. As a goalkeeper, this usually involves active positioning awareness and covering as much space as possible to limit the opponent's attacking threat.”  

"I don't have any particular goalkeeper I emulate. Although I watch other goalkeepers, analyse their strengths and try to learn from them, I don't have any particular goalkeeper as a model for myself."
