Villarreal head coach Marcelino García Toral lamented the goal his team conceded in stoppage time as he spoke to the media following their 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo.
Marcelino expressed regret for the equalizer, saying: "It makes us feel very heavy. We thought we had the victory but we couldn't seal it. It's a shame, but that's football."
"It was painful to see the chance slip away when it was almost in our hands. It was in stoppage time, we were forced to squeeze the defense, and the goal came from a long ball and a subsequent second chance. We have to keep working hard and keep improving."
"Although the final result was not ideal, I still want to congratulate them for their efforts. Without the ball, they gave their all and showed unity and solidity, even if we made some mistakes and were inconsistent in possession."
Finally, the Villarreal coach admitted that he was not completely satisfied with the result, but praised the team's strong start to the season. He said: "The overall performance was very balanced. Considering the current situation, we would have liked to get 9 points, but getting 7 points is very good."
"We are very disappointed now because we had the chance to win the game but we didn't. In the long run, these points will still be valuable, but for now it is hard not to feel frustrated."
