Newly promoted French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain officially announced on Thursday that Marco Nep will replace François Ferrach as sporting director starting October 1.

Nepp, 39, has been with Bayern Munich since 2014, serving as a scout, head of scouting, and technical director. He left Bayern Munich in April 2024, terminating his contract and subsequently serving as a strategic advisor to Toronto FC for about eight months.

Regarding Neppe's joining, Paris FC owner Pierre Ferrazzi said: "Paris FC is delighted to welcome Marco Neppe as Sporting Director. As a manager with many years of experience at one of Europe's top clubs, Neppe will bring us valuable and extensive experience."

"His ability to consistently build a high-quality squad will be invaluable during this transitional period for the club following its promotion to Ligue 1. I wish him every success, particularly in assisting the first team and navigating the complexities of the transfer market."

Paris FC board member Antoine Arnault added: "Following this partnership with Red Bull, we wanted to put an experienced head of sporting administration at the club – someone who had held similar positions at world-class clubs."
