Marty Cifuentes reveals players' fitness levels ahead of match

Ahead of the upcoming match against Charlton Athletic, Matty Cifuentes provided injury updates on four players in his pre-match press conference. James Justin was forced off in the 77th minute of the previous round against Deepdale due to injury.

Meanwhile, Leicester captain Ricardo Pereira has been sidelined since pre-season but has rejoined the squad at the Seagrave training ground.

The Leicester manager said in an interview: "Ricardo Pereira is in excellent form. He is an important member of the team and our captain. He strongly hopes to participate in the game, so he traveled with the team to Preston to cheer on his teammates."

"I decided not to put too much pressure on him at this stage of the season, but he has been training with the team for a week and feels good and performs well overall, which is a positive sign for us. James Justin only suffered an impact in his quadriceps, which was very painful and limited his movement in training at the beginning of the week. He is currently recovering and we will assess his condition tomorrow."

Meanwhile, Viktor Christiansen and Bobby Reid have yet to make an appearance under the Spaniard due to injuries sustained during the summer and are currently remaining out of the matchday squad to focus on recovery and preparation.

Marty Cifuentes said: "The medical team is actively coordinating Victor Christiansen's rehabilitation plan. It is expected that he will need a few weeks to recover. The good news is that he has started individual training and has maintained a good condition on the court. We will closely monitor his recovery progress."

"For Bobby Reid, it's a muscle injury and we need to take it step by step. However, his recovery is going very well. He trained outside with Viktor Christiansen today and he was in good shape and very fast. We just need to progress steadily with the recovery plan and hopefully he will be back with the team in a few weeks."
