Matt Doherty: We are proud of our performance and will face the remaining three games with a positive attitude

Matt Doherty expressed hope that Wolves can get back on track to winning ways against Brighton and continue the positive momentum brought by their previous winning streak.

The Wolves had won six Premier League games in a row for the first time and were unbeaten in seven games before their narrow defeat to Manchester City, so the defender called on his teammates to be in the best possible state of mind for the final three crucial games of the season.

Matt Doherty said: "We lost 0-1 to Manchester City. In the first half, we created some very good chances and kept the formation very compact. But after entering the second half, we didn't have many chances, so this game felt like a missed opportunity."

"When a striker is in hot form, it greatly boosts the overall confidence and vitality of the team. Having a player like Jurgen Strand-Larsen not only means goal guarantee, but also represents the ability to cooperate well with teammates. Therefore, if the team loses such a player, it is undoubtedly a major loss."

"In the early days of Vitor Pereira's tenure, the team went through a period of lows and lost several games in a row, including those against Liverpool and Fulham. But he always maintained his faith and motivated the team to move forward. This trust and persistence became an important driving force for us to continue our efforts."

"Different coaches bring different philosophies and influences. Vitor Pereira kept us focused and clear-headed, and we didn't let our opponents underestimate us, and we turned the situation around. In the last six or seven games, we obviously turned the situation around in an incredible way, which makes us proud of our performance in the second half of the season."

Matt Doherty also said: "I have mentioned that the vitality of the players and the club has always been our advantage. Although we are still in the bottom half of the standings, ranked 13th, this is not our focus. The tacit understanding and vitality between the team are still there, and the results are gradually reflected.

"Of course, the game against Manchester City was not satisfactory, but the performance in the past six games has proved our progress. We will not lose confidence because of a defeat, but we also know that when we look back on that game, we may be able to learn some lessons from it. Overall, we are satisfied with our performance in the second half of the season."
