Matthäus Fernández firmly believes that he can contribute to the team no matter where the coach places him.

West Ham United's 3-2 victory over Burnley in the Premier League showcased their fighting spirit and determination, a source of immense pride for midfielder Lothar Fernandes. Since coming on as a substitute in late October and scoring his first goal for the club with a header against Leeds United, the Portuguese midfielder has played a crucial role in the team's two-game winning streak in the Premier League.

In this match at London Stadium, Burnley took the lead with a goal from Zian Fleming. However, before halftime, Callum Wilson equalized for the home side with a precise header. Substitute Thomas Soucek scored from close range in the second half to put Burnley ahead. Near the end of the match, Kyle Walker-Peters tapped in a rebound to seal the third goal of the day for Burnley.

West Ham academy product Josh Cullen scored near the end of the match against Alphonse Areola, creating a tense final stretch. However, the home team held on to their lead and secured a crucial victory.

Matthäus Fernández stated that the team deserved the three points and believes West Ham United can build on this success after the November international break. He said after the match: "This victory is well-deserved. I think the game against Leeds United was probably the most crucial game of the season for us. We can use that game to learn from our experience, reflect on our shortcomings, and find ways to improve."

“After that match, I said we would train quietly and do our best to win three points. And today, we played another great game. Last week’s performance was also satisfactory, but we still need to keep working hard. We are well aware of the size and responsibility of the club, so we must be fully committed and strive for more wins and points.”

"When a team goes on a losing streak in the Premier League, things get even tougher, so mentality is key. We've put a lot of mental work into it over the past two weeks, and our performance reflects that. We play with just the right amount of pressure, which allows us to truly engage in and enjoy the game. If you go on the pitch with too much pressure, it's hard to play to your potential. Right now, I'm really enjoying every game."

The player spoke highly of substitute Thomas Soucek, who came on when the score was 1-1 and successfully changed the course of the game. Wearing the number 28 jersey, he used his keen goal-scoring instinct to score the team's second goal from close range. Shortly after, Kyle Walker-Peters added another goal to seal the victory for his team.

Matthäus Fernández said: "It was clear that every player played a crucial role in the game. Thomas Soucek completely changed the course of the game after coming on as a substitute. In my opinion, he was undoubtedly the best player of the match. He is a top player and a very professional player. We hope to continue this performance and win more games."

Finally, Matthäus Fernández said he felt like he had left his mark on every inch of the pitch at London Stadium, and he was increasingly enjoying life in East London. Although he scored his first professional goal for West Ham at Elland Road and hopes to continue scoring in the future, he believes he can contribute to the team regardless of his position on the pitch.
