Arsenal defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in the Emirates Cup at home, thanks to goals from Džekeres, Bukayo Saka, and Kai Havertz. Martin Subimendi expressed his gratitude for his teammates' help in making his transition to the team easier, and expressed his anticipation for the new season.

In the 34th minute, Martin Subimendi lobbed the ball into the penalty area, and Džekeres headed the ball in, giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead. Two minutes later, Martinelli assisted Saka to push the ball into the empty net, helping Arsenal continue to lead Bilbao 2-0.

In the 82nd minute of the second half, Havertz received a pass from Saka and volleyed into the penalty area to help Arsenal extend their lead to 3-0. In the end, Arsenal defeated Bilbao 3-0.

Martin Suwaymendi, 26, joined Arsenal in July on a long-term contract.

Martin Suwaymendi said in an interview, "The team has made it easier. I think the other new players have also integrated well. Everyone is very friendly both on and off the court. Rice and Odegaard are the best in their positions. Now it's time to learn and adapt, and most importantly, enjoy it all."

Speaking about the support he receives from around the world and at home, Martin Suwaymendi shared, "I felt it during my trip to Asia, as this is a team that has influence in different parts of the world. The matches I've played in since arriving here have been great, and even though we didn't win the past few days, the atmosphere is still great."
