Meynda extends contract with Sunderland until 2030: I am ready for the challenge of the Premier League

The 20-year-old has signed a new contract with Sunderland until 2030 and the striker says he is ready for the challenge of Premier League football.
In the 2024/25 Championship season, Meynda played 37 games for Sunderland and contributed 8 goals, including one goal in the Premier League promotion play-offs, helping Sunderland successfully get promoted to the Premier League.
"I'm very happy to be here, and everyone knows it," Meynda said in an interview. "This is my team, my club and my city, and this is a special moment for me."
“It’s always special to play at the Stadium of Light. I love playing there and the fans are fantastic. When I hear them singing my name it’s a very special feeling and I always give my all on the pitch.”
In addition, Sunderland will play against Augsburg and Rayo Vallecano in the next friendly matches, and in the first round of the 2025/26 Premier League season, Sunderland will host West Ham at home.
"I work hard every day on the training ground and give my best in every game," said Meinda. "I'm proud to have signed this contract and to extend my stay here. I'm ready for the challenge of the Premier League. I'm in great shape and will give my all."
"It would be something special to score a goal for Sunderland in the Premier League. I came here when I was 18 and now I'm 20. I'm going to fight for it."
