Morgan Rodgers said he and his teammates had a frustrating night as Aston Villa suffered a 0-2 defeat away to Wolverhampton Wanderers. João Gomez and Rodrigo Gomez scored in the second half to seal Unai Emery's team's loss at the Molineux Stadium.  

After both sides failed to score in the early stages, Morgan Rodgers spoke about what he saw as Aston Villa's problems. He said, "It's disappointing. We created far too few chances and scoring opportunities. We controlled the tempo at times, but we didn't create enough threats."  

Despite Aston Villa's recent subpar performances, Morgan Rodgers maintains a positive outlook on the team's current situation. With 10 games remaining in the Premier League, they remain third in the standings.  

The 23-year-old said Aston Villa should deal with the current difficulties as they did at the beginning of the season and called on Unai Emery's players to stay focused as the 2025/26 season enters its final stretch.  

Morgan Rogers added: "There's a reason we're in this position, we deserve it, and we can't ignore that. I think we might have overreacted a bit and overcomplicated things. Obviously, the previous winning streak is different from our recent performance, but that was to be expected."  

“Sometimes, when you face a strong opponent, you have to stay realistic. You can win or you can lose any day, and that’s what makes the Premier League so intense. We need to work hard to stay focused and find our familiar rhythm. We also went through a difficult period at the beginning of the season, so we know how to readjust, and we will do it again. The most important thing now is to be patient and believe that the opportunity will eventually come.”
