Nantes announced on their official website on Tuesday that they have signed Colombia international defender Deiver Machado from Lens.

According to Nantes' official statement, Machado has signed on a short-term two-and-a-half-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2027. He will also wear the number 27 jersey which was vacated following Nigeria international forward Moses Simon's departure.

About Deiver Machado

The 32-year-old Deiver Machado was born on September 2, 1993, in Tado, Colombia. He is 1.80 meters tall and primarily plays as a left wing-back, but can also play as a left midfielder.

Machado joined Atlético Nacional's youth academy at a young age and completed his Atlético Nacional first-team debut in October 2013.

The following January, Machado was loaned-out to Alianza Petrolero.

In January 2015, Machado moved to Millionarios for $150,000.

During his two-and-a-half-year spell with the Millionarios, Machado won the Colombian Categoría Primera A title once.

In July 2017, Machado joined Gent for €750,000. During his time there, he helped the team reach the quarterfinals of the Belgian Cup.

The following July, Machado returned to Atlético Nacional on-loan. During his time there, he helped the club win the Colombian Super Cup once.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2020, Machado joined Toulouse on a free transfer. During his time there, he helped the club reach the quarterfinals of the Coupe de France.

The following July, Machado moved to Lens for €1.5 million.

During his three-and-a-half-year spell with Les Sang et Or, Machado made 117 appearances for the Ligue 1 leaders in all competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 8 assists.
