Nottingham Forest won their first European match in 30 years and Dyche praised the team's wonderful performance

Nottingham Forest defeated Portuguese powerhouse Porto 2-0 at home in the Europa League group stage, marking the team's first European victory in 30 years.

New manager Sean Dyche got off to a winning start in his first match as manager and highly praised the performance of his players. The match was played at the City Ground, with Nottingham Forest scoring one goal in each half.

Morgan Gibbs-White scored the first goal and Igor Jesus scored again in the second half, giving the home fans a long-awaited victory and giving the team an ideal start to their Europa League journey.

After the game, Dyche said that this victory meant a lot to the team, but at the same time reminded the players to remain calm: "The past few days have been very busy, but I am proud of everyone in the club. The players are very good. We shared many new training concepts with them, and they all actively accepted them and demonstrated execution in the game."

Talking about the content of the game, Dyche said: "I would have been willing to accept a difficult victory, but the team played a wonderful game, which is the only requirement I have for them. I asked them to fight for themselves, for the fans and for the team badge on their chest, and they did it."

"We achieved a lot in our opening match, but this is just the first step. There is still a lot of work to do. This was an important victory for the fans, we changed the atmosphere in the team and now it's about keeping up the momentum."

Under Dyche's leadership, Nottingham Forest not only broke a 30-year European Cup drought but also snapped a recent four-match losing streak. Nottingham Forest's next match will be on October 26th, away to Bournemouth, in the Premier League.
