Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the signing of Botafogo striker Igor Jesus. The 24-year-old striker, who has just returned from the FIFA Club World Cup, has signed a four-year contract with the club.  

In helping Botafogo advance to the knockout rounds, he scored twice in the game, including the winning goal against Paris Saint-Germain, and was named the best player twice in the team's first two games. The Brazilian player began his career in Coritiba and made his first appearance for the first team at the age of 18. In 2020, he joined the UAE Youth Team and scored 43 goals and contributed 20 assists in 88 games.  

In July 2024, Igor Jesus was selected for the Brazilian national team for the first time due to his outstanding performance in the domestic league. He then participated in the World Cup South American qualifiers held in October and November. The striker scored a goal in his first game against Chile and contributed an assist in the game against Peru, kicking off his wonderful national team career.  

The versatile forward, who can play as a centre-forward or winger, helped Botafogo win Serie A and the Copa Libertadores last season.  

The Nottingham Forest team warmly welcomes Igor Jesus to join the team. He will participate in the pre-season before the new season and prepare for the game with his new teammates. After signing, Igor Jesus said: "I am very happy to be part of this new chapter, especially in a club with such a history as Nottingham Forest."
