Official: 31-year-old Miami International midfielder Gressel officially joins Minnesota United

Inter Miami announced on Tuesday that Julian Gressel has joined Minnesota United via waiver process. His contract with his new club runs until December 2026, with an option for a one-year extension.
Julian Gressel, 31, plays as a right midfielder, center midfielder and right back. He was selected by Atlanta United with the eighth pick in the first round in January 2017. He then played for D.C. United, Vancouver Whitecaps and Columbus Crew, winning 1 CAF Champions League, 1 U.S. Open Cup, 2 MLS Championships and 2 Canadian Championships.
In September 2024, Gressel joined Miami International as a free agent. He made 40 appearances for Miami International, scored 1 goal and provided 10 assists, and won an MLS Supporters Shield championship with the team.
After completing the transfer, Gressel said: "I am very excited to join and integrate into Minnesota United. I can't wait to get to work with everyone and continue the team's current good momentum."
Minnesota United Director of Soccer Khalid Ahmed added: “We welcome Julian and his family to Minnesota and are excited to have him join our team. Julian has extensive MLS experience and a championship background and is a proven winner and competitor. We hope he can bring these qualities to the team and help the club continue to improve this season and in the future.”
