West Ham United defender Oliver Scalze once again delivered a stellar performance in Saturday's Premier League match, helping his team to a 3-1 victory over Sunderland. He stated that he feels he is improving with each game. Cricenceo Somerville opened the scoring for West Ham in the 14th minute with a header. Scalze then played a crucial role in the team's second goal, coming down in the box after being fouled by Trey Hume, with captain Jarrod Bowen converting the penalty.  

Matthäus Fernández unleashed a brilliant long-range shot shortly before halftime, essentially sealing the victory. Although Bryan Broby pulled one back for the visitors in the second half, it did little to diminish the significance of West Ham's win. This victory extends West Ham's winning streak to three games across all competitions – first defeating Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup third round, then Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, and now Sunderland. Oliver Scals stated that the growing confidence within the team is having a positive and far-reaching impact.  

Oliver Scals said: "We are very pleased with the result of this game and our current winning streak. I think the win against Queens Park Rangers gave the team an initial boost, and we continued to work hard after that, eventually winning the next two games."  

“Personally, I went through a tough period after Christmas against Fulham, but then the games came one after another, and I think I performed pretty well after that. All you can do is put those moments behind you and focus on the future, and I’ve always tried my best. It feels good to be able to play today. In my opinion, that situation was undoubtedly a penalty. I definitely felt the physical contact, so I think it constituted a foul.”  

“We really felt the support from the fans, and they played exceptionally well today. I think they gave us a huge boost during the game. The best way to repay the fans is to put on a performance like today, and thankfully we did.”  

Since taking over the first team on January 15th, manager Paco Hemmes' performance in East London has impressed Oliver Scals, with the team winning their first two matches in charge. Scals also praised Cristiano Somerville's recent excellent form, with the Dutch player scoring in his third consecutive game against Sunderland. He stated that he and Somerville are gradually establishing a stable and effective partnership on the team's left flank.  

Oliver Scals said, "Paco Hemes is an excellent coach, especially adept at defensive work, and can effectively improve the team's defensive stability. He is easy-going and can have a positive impact on the team. In addition, the coaching staff as a whole has strong communication skills, which is very beneficial to the development of the entire team."  

Oliver Skars wasn't the only one making a strong impression on the field. On the left flank, the young full-back's partnership with winger Crisencio Somerwell is maturing, helping the Dutch player score in his last three matches. Oliver Skars said, "Crisencio Somerwell has been outstanding; everyone can see he's in great form. I think our partnership is excellent, and I look forward to further developing that understanding in the future."
