In the 30th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season, Brentford hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford. After 90 minutes of intense play, the two sides ultimately drew 2-2.
Facing bottom-ranked Wolves, Brentford took the initiative from the start. In the 11th minute, Mikel Damsgaard and Dango Watara combined in the attacking third, with Damsgaard's final shot going just over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Keane Lewis-Porter delivered a cross from the left flank at a 45-degree angle, and Michael Kayord headed the ball into the net to give Ham a lead. In the 37th minute, Watara broke into the box and selflessly passed the ball across to Igor Thiago, who tapped it into the empty net. In the 41st minute, Sepp van den Berg headed the ball across from the left side of the box, but Thiago's follow-up shot hit the left post.
Just as Brentford were about to go into halftime with a two-goal lead, the situation on the field suddenly changed. In the 44th minute, Jean-Richard Bellegaard made a run down halfway and delivered a precise through ball, allowing Adam Armstrong to unleash a long-range shot from the edge of the box to pull one back for Wolves.
After the break, Wolves gradually took control of the game. In the 55th minute, Jackson Chacua crossed from the right side of the penalty area, and Armstrong's low shot hit the left post. In the 77th minute, João Gomez delivered a cross from outside the penalty area, and Tolu Arokdare headed in from close range to equalize. In the 79th minute, Hugo Bueno crossed from the left wing into the penalty area, and Arokdare's header was denied by the crossbar. Neither side managed to score again, and the final score remained 2-2.
After this match, Brentford sits in 7th place in the Premier League with 45 points (13 wins, 6 draws, 11 losses). Wolves, on the other hand, are bottom of the table with 17 points, 12 points away from the relegation zone.
