Rob Edwards was pleased with his players' performance in the challenging conditions at Brendle Park. They ultimately defeated Grimsby Town to advance to the fifth round of the UAE FA Cup. Wolves put in a tremendous effort to beat the League Two side, and the inclement weather presented many players with their first experience of such a pitch challenge in their careers.  

The coach was very satisfied with the players' tenacious fighting spirit shown in the match. Thanks to Santi Bueno's second-half goal, the team escaped a narrow victory and continued their progress in the game.  

After the match, Rob Edwards said, "Both sides fought hard in the final stages of the game, with headers and volleys coming one after another! The whole game was incredibly exciting, but the conditions were very tough, and it was a huge challenge for both teams, including us."  

"This was a completely different style of game, a bit like going back to the style of football of the past. We could only win by being professional and making the right decisions. It wasn't possible to play beautiful football today, nor was it suitable to try to build attacks from the back. Although I think the opponent wanted us to do that, we adopted a more pragmatic approach."  

"We displayed excellent spirit and fighting spirit, and our solid fundamentals led to the victory. For some of our Brazilian players, today will be an unforgettable day; they will not easily forget this match."  

“We’ve been emphasizing the importance of mentality over the past few days. For us, their performance against Manchester United at the beginning of the season was outstanding. We hope to learn from that, fully respect our opponents, the conditions of the game, and the competition itself, and focus on doing what we can control.”  

"In the second half, we gradually adapted to the game environment. I believe that in this kind of game, you have to rely on your strength to win. We discussed how to win and anticipated that our opponents would go all out, so we were well prepared."
