Despite Wolves' 0-2 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, Rodrigo Gomez still saw positive signs in his team's second-half performance. Trailing by two goals at halftime and remaining on the back foot early in the second half, Rob Edwards' team gradually improved after the break, with the introduction of the Portuguese player and Jørgen Strand Larsen.
Although these improvements failed to translate into goals and ended Wolves' previous five-game unbeaten run, Rodrigo Gomez stated that the team still has many positive aspects to continue and improve upon when they return to the Molineux Stadium next week.
Rodrigo Gomez said: "Manchester City is undoubtedly one of the top teams in the Premier League and even the world. We knew this game would be very difficult, but we gave it our all to try and get points. I think Manchester City played better than us in the first half, and we improved in the second half, but unfortunately we couldn't win the game or equalize. We need to keep working hard and maintain our fighting spirit."
