Roma issued a statement on Thursday announcing that Tammy Abraham will be loaned to Besiktas for one season. Once the conditions stipulated in the contract are met, the buyout clause will automatically take effect.
Besiktas added that they will pay Roma a rental fee of about 2 million euros and will also bear Abraham's annual salary of 6 million euros after tax. If nothing unexpected happens, Besiktas will buy out Abraham for 13 million euros at the end of the season and sign him until June 2030. By then, Abraham's annual salary will be 6.5 million, 7 million, 7 million and 7 million euros respectively.
The 27-year-old Abraham was born in London, England, and plays as a center forward. He grew up in the Chelsea youth training system and made his first Premier League debut for the first team on May 11, 2016.
Abraham was then loaned to Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa, and joined Roma from Chelsea for 41 million euros in 2021. To date, he has made 120 appearances in Roma, scored 37 goals and provided 13 assists, and won the 2021/22 Europa League with the team.
However, Abraham's tactical position in Rome gradually declined over time. In order to get more playing opportunities, he joined AC Milan on loan in the 2024/25 season, during which he played 44 times, contributed 10 goals and 7 assists, and won an Italian Super Cup with the team.
