Sergio Conceicao says AC Milan's winning streak is not only due to tactical changes

AC Milan defeated Genoa 2-1 in the 35th round of the 2024/25 Serie A season, thanks to Leo's goal and an own goal from the opponent. Sergio Conceicao said that his team's winning streak was not only due to tactical changes, but also to team spirit and the players' abilities.

In the 61st minute, Vito Oliveira received a diagonal pass from his teammate and scored, helping Genoa take the lead 1-0. In the 76th minute, Santiago Jimenez passed the ball back from the penalty area, Leo got the ball and shot it in, helping AC Milan tie the score 1-1.

Only one minute later, Leo made a cross pass, Felix stepped forward to shoot, but Frenterup accidentally blocked the ball into his own goal, allowing AC Milan to overtake 2-1.

In the end, AC Milan defeated Genoa 2-1 away from home. After two consecutive wins, AC Milan is currently ranked 9th in the standings with 57 points.

AC Milan coach Sergio Conceicao said in an interview, "We started the game in one system and ended in another. The club paid me to study the game. We not only studied a formation, but also made comprehensive improvements on the individual players, different cooperation and overall levels. But sometimes mistakes are made, like when we conceded a goal."

"That's why we focus so much on these details at the training ground and it makes us happy to see the players succeed and win games."

Sergio Conceicao continued, "This game proved that we have a united and strong team, and the players who came on the bench brought us something extra."

"We also made some adjustments in the formation, putting Felix and Santiago Jimenez on the front line, which further expanded the width of the attack. This is more a reflection of the individual abilities of the players rather than the credit of the coach."

On the other hand, AC Milan will face Bologna at the San Siro Stadium in the next round of Serie A, and will face Bologna again in the subsequent Italian Cup final.
