Shay Charles has spoken out following a bitterly disappointing night for Southampton as they lost 3-1 to Bristol City in the English Football League .  

The match started well for the visitors, Adam Armstrong, who built a significant lead within the first half-hour. However, Bristol City quickly fought back within three minutes, scoring two more goals in the second half. Despite Shay Charles's brilliant through ball for Adam Armstrong, the match proved disappointing for both him and the team.  

"We controlled the game in the first half and they only had one chance, a long pass that went over the line, which was very disappointing," said Shay Charles. "For the second goal, I can't even say anything about it. It was very lucky, but I still think we have to do better to avoid them scoring."  

"It was the most disappointing to be equalised at that moment. It was like you were giving your all and suddenly the opponent came back and completely disrupted your rhythm. It was a very frustrating feeling."  

"When the second goal happened, we were still in the game. But it was a very aggressive goal and the game started to get out of control. I think that's something we need to improve on. Obviously, the opponent was very strong and we knew that. We forced them to play long balls but we still didn't know how to defend effectively."  

"In addition, we must seize every opportunity, including myself. I did have a corner kick opportunity at the time, but unfortunately I couldn't convert it into a goal, which is very frustrating. However, we need to cheer up and prepare for Saturday's game, which is crucial for the team. The opponent is strong, and we must be fully prepared, adjust our condition and go again."
