Russian Counter Strike 2 powerhouse Spirit announced on Friday via its official Telegram account that they have decided to punish its Academy team player Fernando_mag, for making sexist remarks to a player from the Imperial women's team, Valkyries, during a recent practice.

According to Spirit's official statement, Fernando_mag's actions seriously violated the values and ethics set by the club, and severe punishment is necessary.

Head of Spirit academy team Soul3 also apologized to tory and Valkyries players on behalf of the entire organization. The organization will also strengthen its education on gender equality and respect for all team members.

While Spirit has not yet announced the specific disciplinary action Fernando_mag will receive, his actions have certainly exacerbated the recent trend of sexist behaviour against women in the Counter Strike 2 e-sports community.

How the Incident Happened

On October 22nd, Valkyries coach hyskeee complained on his official Twitter account about an unpleasant incident during a joint practice with the Spirit academy team, which forced him to interrupt the session.

Fernando_mag, a player on the Spirit academy team, Spirit White, made sexist remarks to the female Valkyries players.

In the remarks, Fernando_mag threatened that his teammate, Kogas, will insert his private part into the women's mouths.

Afterwards, Valkyries In-Game Leader tory, one of the individuals involved in the incident, criticized Fernando_mag on her official Twitter account, expressing her disgust at Spirit for hiring such a immoral player.

Following the incident, Spirit immediately drew huge backlash not only from Imperial Valkyries fans, but also from many netizens, who criticized Fernando_mag's disrespectful behaviour towards women.
