Despite the defeat to Liverpool, Soucek believes there are still positive aspects to see in the players' fighting spirit and attitude.

West Ham, nicknamed the "Hammers," suffered a 2-5 defeat to Liverpool in a key Premier League match of the 28th round, despite coming from behind to secure goals from Soucek and Castellanos. Czech star Soucek stated that while the match was difficult for the team, he still saw a positive side in his teammates' fighting spirit and attitude.

In the first half of the match, Ektiik, Van Dijk, and McAllister all scored, giving Liverpool a 3-0 lead. In the 49th minute of the second half, Diouf crossed the ball into the box, and Soucek slotted it home, pulling West Ham back to 1-3.

In the 70th minute, Ekittik assisted Gakopo to score, extending Liverpool's lead to 4-1. In the 75th minute, Bowen took a corner kick, and Castellanos headed the ball into the net, making the score 2-4 for West Ham.

In the 82nd minute, Frimpong passed the ball from the penalty area, and Disasi inadvertently deflected it into his own net. Ultimately, West Ham lost 2-5 to Liverpool at Anfield. After losing three points, West Ham are currently 18th in the standings with 25 points, still facing relegation.

West Ham midfielder Soucek said, "It's hard to accept because the score was really bad, but I think our performance was completely different. I have to talk about the first half first. We conceded three goals from set pieces, which shouldn't have happened, and that was the key factor that broke us down because I think we scored two goals and even had a chance to score five."

“Playing at Anfield is always difficult, but we were well prepared and in good training condition. We believed we could get points here, but obviously we didn’t. However, we can still take a lot of positives out of it, and we know that the game against Fulham next is very important for us. Some days just don’t go right, and things don’t go as planned. Even though we had several chances, and could have even come back to 4-3 or closed the gap again, the result was not what we hoped for.”

Soucek emphasized, "We can see the positive side in the individual performances and the team's fighting spirit until the very end, even though the score wasn't ideal. I have a very positive view of my teammates' performance and believe that we are ready to continue fighting to get out of the relegation zone. That's our goal, and I believe that even this game can help us."

In addition, Soucek said, "As a player, I am always happy to score goals and have had great moments at Anfield, but I always value results and points more, so in the end I was disappointed."

“I want to thank the fans, they are absolutely fantastic. Liverpool is so far from London, yet they still came to support us. I hope the fans will continue to do so when we play Fulham, because we really need them.”

In addition, 21-year-old Matthäus Fernández said, "That's football. We know the next game is coming up, and we need to win to help the team get out of our current situation."

“I think we are improving every week. We know the strength of the team and the head coach, so we will do our best to prepare for the next game. We will rest and recover, and then start again. We will do everything we can to win.”
