England manager Thomas Tuchel has been outspoken in recent days about how Trent Alexander-Arnold’s failure to improve defensively could become a weakness in the national team’s bid for World Cup glory.

Although the England full-back missed the national team training in March due to injury, he was still included in the national team's list for the upcoming matches against Andorra and Senegal. However, Tuchel has sounded the alarm in advance as the Red Army defender is about to move to Real Madrid in the summer.

Tuchel admitted: "I noticed that he sometimes relied too much on his offensive contribution and lacked enough attention to defensive discipline and commitment. If he wants to replicate the significant impact he had at Liverpool in the England team, he must take defense extremely seriously."

As one of the most creative full-backs in football, Arnold's defensive performance has always been controversial. Tuchel's remarks are obviously intended to urge him to improve his comprehensiveness, especially in the national team, where the margin for error is extremely low.

"Especially in the World Cup qualifiers and even the knockout stages, a defensive mistake, a moment of lapse of concentration, can be a fatal blow, and make you pack your bags and go home early."
