Tottenham Hotspur announced on their official website on Saturday that they have appointed former Juventus' Croatian head coach Igor Tudor as their new head coach.

According to Spurs' official statement Tottenham, Tudor has signed on a short-term contract with the club, which runs until the end of this season.

During his tenure, Tudor's main task is to help the team improve its performances, provide stability, and improve its position in the Premier League table.

After completing his joining procedures, Tudor, who was interviewed by the Tottenham Hotspur official website for the first time, said: "I am honoured to join this club at this important time."

"I understand the responsibility I bear, and my goal is clear: to improve the team's consistency and to fight with confidence in every game."

Spurs announced the sacking of their former Danish head coach Thomas Frank, on Tuesday, February 11th, due to poor performance, making him the club's fifth manager to be sacked in seven years.

During the process, reports circulated that Spurs might try to have assistant coach Jonny Heitinga serve as interim manager until the end of the season, but this rumour did not materialize.

Another possibility was that one of the club's first-team coaches would temporarily serve as interim manager until the end of the season before bringing back former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is currently coaching the US national team, but this was highly unlikely.

Spurs will face their fierce city rivals and league leaders Arsenal next week in Tudor's first match in charge, where he would will be under immense pressure and presented a significant challenge.

About Igor Tudor

Tudor, 47, was born on April 16, 1978, in Split, Croatia. He is 1.92 meters tall and primarily played as a center back during his playing career, but could also play as a defensive midfielder.

Tudor spent the majority of his playing career at Juventus. During this time, he helped the club win two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana titles, one Serie B title, and one UEFA Intertoto Cup title.

After retiring, Tudor coached his boyhood club, Hajduk Split, from 2013 to 2015, winning the Croatian Prva Liga title once.

Tudor returned to Juventus as Andrea Pirlo's assistant for the 2020/21 season, later left the club following Pirlo's departure.

He subsequently served as head coach at Hellas Verona, Marseille, and Lazio.

In March 2025, Tudor succeeded Thiago Motta as Juventus head coach.

He was later sacked in October of the same year due to poor performance.

During his seven-month tenuer at I Bianconeri, Tudor has coached the Serie A giants in 24 matches across all competitions, achieving 10 wins, 8 draws, and 5 losses, with a win percentage of 41.67%.
