Juventus are about to face UAE powerhouse Al Ain in their first match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and coach Igor Tudor admits that he is very eager to begin the journey.
At the pre-match press conference, Tudor talked about the team's preparations, competition goals and opponents, showing a clear belief in winning the championship and a pragmatic attitude towards preparation.
Tudor said: "We are not here to participate, we are here to win. This is the first time to host the Club World Cup and we are very much looking forward to and eager to start this journey. We are well prepared and hope to perform well, there is no doubt about that."
In order to adapt to the time difference and hot weather in the United States, Juventus conducted adjustment training in advance. Tudor said calmly: "Summer is the same for every team. We have only one focus: ourselves. No matter how difficult the game is, we must focus on executing the task and achieving the goal."
As for the team, several injured players are actively recovering, and Tudor revealed their injuries. Midfielder Manuel Locatelli has resumed team training, although there is still discomfort in his ankle. Then Kupmenas is close to full recovery, and Federico Gatti is also steadily recovering.
Tudor said that Kupmenas and Gatti are approaching their best form, and whether they will start is still to be evaluated. Defender Daniele Rugani was highly praised by Tudor and is regarded as a stable force in this tournament. Although Grayson Bremer is still in the recovery period, he has started more intensive training and is expected to return later.
Although Juventus' opponent is Al Ain from a smaller league, Tudor stressed that they must not underestimate the enemy: "We have analyzed all the teams and must respect every opponent while firmly following our own path."
