Crystal Palace Academy defender Tyler White has officially signed his first professional contract. The 18-year-old has made 38 appearances for the club's U18s since joining the academy two years ago, 24 of which came last season.
Tyler White is a local player from Selhurst Road, where his father was also born. He progressed through the academy and played for the Under-15 team, winning the runner-up title in the 2021-22 National Floodlight Cup final.
Before the start of the 2023-24 season, Taylor White successfully obtained a youth training scholarship from Crystal Palace and performed well in his U18 league debut, helping the team beat Southampton 5-0 and keeping a clean sheet. Then in September 2023, he made his U21 team debut, coming on as a substitute in the Premier League Cup as the team beat Middlesbrough 6-2.
Speaking about the significance of playing for his local club, Taylor White said: “Signing a professional contract with Crystal Palace means the world to me, especially as I grew up here. It means a lot to my dad too, to have seen me progress through the club. I’m very proud to be wearing this badge on my chest as I don’t want to be out there playing.”
"It means the world to me and my family. Seeing guys my age already playing for the first team inspires me to keep working hard and I'm really looking forward to getting to that level. My ultimate goal at Crystal Palace is to be a part of the first team."
