Xabi Alonso unhappy with Dean Huissen's red card

In the fourth round of La Liga, Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 2-1 away, maintaining their four-game winning streak. However, the biggest focus of the game came in the first half, when young center back Dean Huissen was directly sent off for a foul, a decision that sparked doubts from coach Xabi Alonso.

In the 30th minute, Huysen was called for a foul while defending Mikel Oyarzabal and received a direct red card. When asked about this in the post-match press conference, Alonso said, "For me, it was a yellow card."

"Militao was nearby, the ball was out of control, and it was 40 meters from the goal. I've watched the replay and I still stick to my opinion. The referee has his interpretation, VAR has theirs, but I'm not completely convinced. That's how it is. I did the same thing when dealing with the Güler issue last week. I will listen respectfully to see if these explanations convince me."

Real Madrid's man-down situation dramatically changed the course of the game, forcing them to play with ten men for the remaining 60 minutes. Alonso acknowledged the team's resilience in the face of adversity: "We could have scored more goals, but with one man down we had to defend."

"The 2-0 goal was crucial in the second half and gave us a cushion. The team made a huge effort and it's never easy to win at the Anoeta Stadium, and today was even more so."

Alonso was both angry and relieved about Huysen's foul: "This was an avoidable action. The opponent did not fully control the ball. This kind of mistake should not happen, but fortunately the team made up for the consequences."

With this victory, Real Madrid has won four consecutive league games. Alonso stressed that the season is still long, but the team's victory despite playing with one less player is a testament to the team's resilience and fighting spirit.
