Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of 20-year-old Dutch centre-back Dean Huijsen, who plays for Bournemouth.

The highly anticipated young player signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid and started his career at the Bernabéu wearing the No. 24 jersey. At the signing ceremony at Real Madrid Sports City, club president Florentino Perez personally welcomed Huissen and presented him with a model of the Bernabéu Stadium, a commemorative watch and a jersey with his name printed on it.

Perez said: "Today is a special day for us, we have welcomed a new star who will inspire the coming years. Dean, you have chosen Real Madrid as your home and we will also escort your dream."

Huissen could not hide his excitement at the press conference: "This is the best day of my life. From the moment I received the call from Real Madrid, I have not considered other teams. I will do my best to join the best club in the world."

Regarding his own position, Huisen said: "I am a modern central defender. I am good at passing, reading the game, and paying attention to defensive details. I am calm, try to stay humble, and improve myself every day."

Huissen admitted that he did not care about the transfer value: "I will not be affected by those amounts. I only focus on training hard and doing everything I can to help the team. I came to Real Madrid to win the championship. I crave all the honors and want to achieve all my goals here."

When Real Madrid officially announced Huissen's joining, he revealed that former Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos sent him congratulations: "He sent me a message on the day of the official announcement. He is my most admired idol and the most comprehensive central defender. His encouragement makes me more motivated."
