Official: Valencia have extended goalkeeper Cristian Rivero's contract until 2027.

Valencia CF announced on Wednesday that they have renewed Cristian Rivero's contract. The new contract extends his original term, which expired this summer, by one year, until June 30, 2027.

The 27-year-old Rivero came through Valencia's youth academy and made his first-team debut in the Copa del Rey on December 17, 2020. He is currently Valencia's third-choice goalkeeper, behind Julen Ahirezavara and Stor Dimitrovski.

According to Transfermarkt, Rivero has made 5 appearances for Valencia so far, keeping one clean sheet. He also played on loan for Alcorcón and Albacete, making a total of 9 appearances in the Segunda División, keeping one clean sheet.

After completing the contract extension, Rivero said: "I am very happy. This is a trust in me. Valencia is the home I have never left since I was 10 years old. I know what it means to represent this club and wear this jersey. Being a Valencia player has always been my dream, and it has been deeply rooted in my heart since childhood. My goal has been clear from the beginning, which is to protect Valencia's goal."

Valencia have struggled this season, sitting 15th in La Liga after 24 rounds with 6 wins, 8 draws, 10 losses, and 26 points. Despite this, Rivero remains confident about Valencia's prospects: "We are truly eager to turn things around and are working towards that goal."
