About Thomas Tuchel
The 52-year-old Tuchel was born on August 25, 1973, in Krumbach, Swabia, Bavaria, Germany. He is 1.92 meters tall and played for Augsburg, Stuttgarter Kickers, and Ulm as a centre-back. He retired early at the age of 25 due to a severe meniscus fracture that could not be fully healed.
After retiring as a player, Tuchel initially served as former Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp's successor, where he managed Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund after Klopp's departure.
In the summer of 2018, he took over as manager of Paris Saint-Germain from Unai Emery, but was sacked before Christmas 2020 after failing to win the Champions League with the Ligue 1 champions.
One month later, Tuchel became Chelsea manager, leading the team to one Champions League title, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup. However, with the arrival of new owner Todd Boehly, Tuchel was ruthlessly sacked by the Premier League giants in early September 2022.
In March 2023, Tuchel succeeded Julian Nagelsmann as manager of Bayern Munich.
During his time managing Die Roten, Tuchel won the Bundesliga title once, but left acrimoniously the following summer after a trophyless season and a major falling out with the management.
In January 2025, Tuchel succeeded caretaker manager Lee Carsley as the new England national team manager.
Since becoming the manager of the Three Lions, Tuchel has managed 10 matches in all competitions, achieving 9 wins and 1 loss, with a win percentage of 90%, and will be competing with the team this summer for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
