Bayer Leverkusen announced on Monday that it has signed a contract extension with Czech striker Patrik Schick. The new contract extends the contract by three years, from its original expiration date of 2027 to June 30, 2030.

The 29-year-old Patrik Schick came through the youth academy of Sparta Prague and made his first-team debut in the Czech Cup on April 16, 2014. He subsequently moved to Bohemians 1905, Sampdoria, Roma and RB Leipzig before joining Leverkusen for €26.5 million in September 2020.

To date, Schick has made 168 appearances for Leverkusen, scoring 81 goals and providing 12 assists, winning the Bundesliga title, the German Cup, and the German Super Cup. He currently ranks fifth on Leverkusen's all-time scoring list.

Schick also represented the Czech national team 46 times, contributing 24 goals and 6 assists.

Regarding the contract extension, Simon Rolfes, Managing Director of Leverkusen Sport, commented: "We have not only convinced one of Europe's most dangerous center forwards to continue with our project, but also succeeded in retaining a key player.
