The 2025/26 FA Cup final will be held at Wembley Stadium, with Arsenal facing off against another Premier League giant, Manchester City, for the title. Mikel Arteta stated that the team needs to take the right steps and is very eager to win the trophy.
In the earlier UEFA Champions League, Premier League leaders Arsenal defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 at home after goals from Eze and Rice, successfully advancing to the quarterfinals. This has become another important competition for the Gunners to compete for the title.
Manchester City, having been eliminated by Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16, are also hoping to end their season with a title.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said, "For me, the goal of this game is simply to win the trophy, nothing more. All the preparation and enjoyment of the next 48 hours is to be in top form when we enter Wembley Stadium. We are ready and confident that we can achieve our goal. I feel excited and very positive right now."
“This is a decisive moment because ultimately everything comes down to winning the trophy. When you reach the final, that’s the most important thing. But to get to this point, a lot has to be done and a lot of effort has to be put in, and the team has done that. So we need to prove that on the field, without a doubt.”
Arteta shared, “I’ve won trophies in this stadium with a full house and experienced that atmosphere firsthand; it’s an extraordinary experience. One of my best memories as a player is playing in a match like this. That’s why we’re so excited, because we know what this match means.”
“We are very excited about what we are doing right now, and we must continue to take the right steps, especially in key moments. To achieve our goals, we must build the momentum we want.”
When asked about the team's repeated near misses with major titles in recent seasons, Arteta said, "When you've been in that position before and haven't won a title for many years, it not only brings a stronger sense of urgency but also inspires greater motivation because the team really craves victory, and that's exactly what we have."
"This is really important to us, and it's a goal we've been working hard to achieve. Now we've finally got the opportunity."
