Unai Emery attends his pre-match press conference ahead of their match against Fulham. Aston Villa will host Fulham at Villa Park on Sunday as they look to secure their first Premier League win of the season following their recent Europa League victory over Bologna.  

The manager spoke to local and national media at the team's training ground, looking ahead to the upcoming matches. He discussed the feelings of the win over Bologna, the team's confidence, the intensity of training, future goals and his anticipation for the match against Fulham.  

Unai Emery said : " Of course, the victory over Bologna boosted our confidence, but we are not completely satisfied because we still need to continue to improve and fight for points in the Premier League. Sunday's game is the sixth game of the season. We will face our fans at home and the team is full of strong motivation."  

“Regarding the formation of the team, we have always had our own plans. How we built the team in the past, the current players joined in the last transfer window. They are constantly improving themselves, gradually adapting to our tactical system and team culture, and understanding our philosophy and responsibilities. We hope that they can build confidence in the game and get more playing opportunities. I look forward to the team playing at its best against Fulham on Sunday, playing according to our tactical requirements, and striving to get the ideal result.”  

“It’s not going to be easy playing against Fulham because they have a fantastic manager. Tactically, he’s one of the best managers in the Premier League. We’ll have to be very demanding with them in terms of how they play in possession and in defence. We’ll have to be well organised in attack and try our best to limit their play in defence.”  

Speaking about the goal-scoring problem, Unai Emery said : " Overall, this is an area we need to continue to improve. We must strengthen our attacking performance, build team and individual confidence in the final third, and show better condition in the opponent's penalty area to create more scoring chances."  

"We must continue to improve our level and the players need to strengthen their abilities as forwards, wingers and midfielders. Although I have some concerns about this, I firmly believe that we can eventually achieve our set goals."  

"We must be strict with ourselves. First of all, everyone must take responsibility for focusing on training and performing at their best. When players perform well, their confidence will naturally increase. But the most important thing is to do your job well and contribute to the team. When you give your all to the team, confidence will follow. This is a process that goes beyond individual performance and then contributes to the team."  

Regarding Boubacar Kamara, he said : " He's been doing really well and we've been expecting the best from him this season. He was injured in the second league game against Brentford but played a fantastic performance against Bologna and I think everyone agrees on that."  

"This is exactly the Boubacar Kamara we need. He will be crucial in Sunday's game. We made a huge physical effort in the match against Bologna. But the players will have enough rest and recovery to face the game against Fulham in the best mental state."
