Angel Postecoglou expects Dejan Kulusevski to miss at least the next few months. The head coach said in an interview that although Dejan Kulusevski's recovery is being closely monitored, it will still take time to recover from the injury.  

Dejan Kulusevski was forced off with knee discomfort during Sunday's Premier League match against Crystal Palace. Following further examinations, the club has confirmed that Dejan Kulusevski has undergone surgery on his right patella and is expected to be out for a period of time.  

Tottenham Hotspur further confirms that Dejan Kulusevski will immediately begin the recovery and rehabilitation process with the club’s medical staff before returning to action and the club will fully support him to ensure his recovery goes smoothly.  

In the pre-match press conference, Ange Postecoglu responded to questions about Dejan Kulusevski's injury, detailing the Swedish international's injury and expected recovery time. The head coach revealed that Dejan Kulusevski's injury will take some time to recover, and the team will adjust its plan based on his recovery progress.  

"This is obviously disappointing news," said Ange Postecoglu. "Initially we thought the injury was not serious and the medical team was concerned about the structure of the knee, but the final results were positive."  

"But the next day his condition suddenly worsened and we soon realised something was wrong. He has now undergone surgery and is expected to rest for at least a few months."  

When asked if Dejan Kulusevski would be able to return for the 2025/26 season, which kicks off in August this year, head coach Angel Postecoglou responded: "We'll see. I only have some basic information about his recovery, but what is certain is that he will need to rest for a while."  

"I deeply regret the injuries to Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas, Mads and Radu. The injuries of these four players are not muscle strains. This type of injury is not common, but it can occur in any game. Unfortunately, they happened at the most inappropriate time."  

"I think Dejan Kulusevski has been excellent this season. We've had him try out a new position and he's adapted very well and made a positive contribution to the team. Although he had some ups and downs with a foot injury, he's been working hard on his recovery and showed signs of improvement in the away game against Bodo."  

"He had been gradually getting back to form, so it is a pity that he suffered another injury. However, he is determined and has a very good mentality. I believe this setback will inspire him to fight harder and come back stronger."
