In the seventh round of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League, Bayern Munich defeated Real San Giros 2-0 at home. After this match, they are in second place with 18 points in the league, becoming the second team after Arsenal to advance to the round of 16.
Just two minutes into the game, Bayern Munich, playing at home, launched a rapid attack. They tore apart the opponent's defense with a series of fluid passes, but Harry Kane's shot was brilliantly saved by Kelley Sherpen. In the 29th minute, United Sanguiros threatened Bayern's goal: Anan Hallerly crossed from the right and linked up with Promis David, who surged into the penalty area. David's unmarked header was brilliantly saved by Manuel Neuer.
In the 40th minute, Joshua Kimmich took a corner kick from the right, and Rafael Guerrero's header at the near post went just over the bar. Neither side managed to score again, and the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
However, Bayern Munich broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute of the second half: Michael Olise delivered a corner kick from the right, and Kane headed the ball into the net at the near post. In the 54th minute, Kane broke into the penalty area but was brought down by the onrushing Sherpen, and the referee promptly awarded a penalty. Kane deceived the goalkeeper and fired a low shot into the bottom right corner, extending Bayern's lead to 2-0.
In the 63rd minute, the situation on the field took a dramatic turn: Kim Min-jae pulled down Raul Froluc on the right wing as he attempted to get going, and was subsequently sent off with a second yellow card. Playing with ten men, Bayern soon had another penalty opportunity: in the 78th minute, Olise's cross from the right struck Camille Van der Perez's arm, and the referee awarded a penalty after VAR intervention. Kane then took the penalty, but it hit the crossbar, and Luis Diaz's follow-up shot went over the bar.
At the final whistle, Bayern Munich, playing with ten men, still secured a 2-0 victory at home, taking all three points.
