Barcelona cruised to a 4-0 victory over 10-man Athletic Bilbao in Saturday's La Liga match at Camp Nou, securing their first win since returning to their home ground.

In the first half, shots from Lewandowski and Torres both deflected into the net. In the second half, Fermín scored into the empty net from close range, and Sancete was sent off for excessive protesting after fouling Fermín. In a crucial moment, Torres slotted home a one-on-one chance. Ultimately, Barcelona cruised to a 4-0 victory over 10-man Athletic Bilbao. Following this round of matches, the Blaugrana temporarily top the league table with 31 points; Lehoiak are currently in 8th place with 17 points.

First Half

Just four minutes into the game, Barcelona launched a deadly counter-attack. Álex Berenguer misplaced a back pass from his own back half, allowing Robert Lewandowski to intercept and dribble into the left side of the box before volleying with his left foot. His shot was initially parried by Unai Simón, but deflected into the bottom left corner of the net, giving Barcelona an early 1-0 lead! Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 48th minute, Eric Garcia played a through ball from the attacking third. His pass was initially blocked and cleared off not far away by Dani Vivian. After beating the offside trap, quickly followed up and picking up the loose ball, Fermín López took a few steps before slotting the ball into the bottom right corner of the empty net past the outrushing Simón from the center of the box, extending Barça's lead to 3-0!

Four minutes later, Fermín was brought down from behind by Oihan Sancet while dribbling with the ball at the midfield center circle. The referee immediately blew his whistle and issued a yellow card to Sancet, but the VAR assistant referee intervened. After reviewing the VAR, the referee, seeing Sancet continue to protest, was forced to issue him a straight red card, sending him off. Athletic Bilbao were forced to finish the game with 10-men!

For a period afterward, Barça had several opportunities to score for having an extra-man advantage, but they failed to capitalize on their chances.

In the 90th minute, Yamal delivered a low diagonal through pass from the midfield center circle. After beating the offside trap, Torres quickly followed up, got the ball, and dribbled into the center of the box before volleying the ball into the bottom right corner of the empty net against the outrushing Simón with his right foot, easily scoring his second goal of the game and helped Barcelona seal a 4-0 victory! This is the former Manchester City Spain international winger's 53rd goal for Barça!

When the final whistle is blown, Barcelona comprehensively defeated 10-man Athletic Bilbao by 4-0.
