Liverpool announced on its official website on Saturday that the club has signed Hungary international goalkeeper wonderkid Ármin Pécsi from Puskás Akadémia.

According to Liverpool's official statement, Pécsi has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.

In addition, according to the news brought by Sky Sports' resident renowned Liverpool team correspondent Melissa Reddy, the Premier League champions paid a total of £2 million to Puskás Akadémia to sign Pécsi.

About Ármin Pécsi

Pécsi, who is only 20 years old, was born on February 24, 2005 in Hainburg an der Donau, Austria. He is 1.90 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper. He has dual Austrian and Hungarian nationality.

Pécsi, who has been a Liverpool fan since childhood, immigrated to Hungary at the age of 3. He joined the Györ youth academy at the age of 6. He moved to the Puskás Akadémia youth academy in 2017, started playing for its reserve team in 2021 and was promoted to the first-team in July of the following year.

In July 2023, Pécsi was loaned-out to Csákvár, where he was praised for his outstanding performances.

At the end of December of the same year, Pécsi was urgently recalled due to injuries to several goalkeepers in the team, and completed his Puskás Akadémia first-team debut in February 2024.

During his one-and-a-half-year spell at Puskás Akadémia, Pécsi played 52 times for the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság I club in across all competitions, conceded 58 goals, kept 15 clean sheets, and was shortlisted for the Golden Boy Award once.
