Sunderland manager Regis Lebrs said ahead of the match against Everton that the team's recent excellent performance is inseparable from the growth of young players and the maturity of the substitutes.

Lebrides emphasized that the team now possesses greater tactical flexibility and a more competitive atmosphere, which will be key to their continued progress. Sunderland are in excellent form recently, having defeated Wolves and Chelsea, and are aiming for a third consecutive Premier League victory.

Among them, 20-year-old Shemsdina Talbi stood out, scoring the winning goal at Stamford Bridge and providing a crucial assist in the previous round against Wolves. Lebrides praised the young striker for showing maturity beyond his years, but also reminded him to maintain consistency.

“Talbi has done very well, but we must remember that he is still very young,” Lebrides said. “It’s not easy to maintain consistency in a top league at the age of 20. If he can continue to score goals and create chances when he comes off the bench, that’s a very positive sign. I believe he will start more games in the future.”

Lebrides also mentioned the progress of forward Bryan Broby and defender Lutsharel Geertruida. He believes both players can make a difference after coming on as substitutes and are hidden strengths of the team.

“Some players are in top form right now, and we don’t want to break that momentum. When you’re a substitute, you have to learn to wait and stay focused. When the opportunity comes, you have to give it your all,” Lebrice added.

Under Leboulis' leadership, Sunderland is gradually developing a stable rotation system, with the energy of young players and substitutes becoming a new engine driving the team forward.
