The 18-year-old midfield star Harrison Armstrong performed well in Everton's first pre-season warm-up match, showing great fighting spirit and potential.

Armstrong came from Everton's youth training system. He started in the 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley and played for 77 minutes, taking a positive step towards winning a place in the first team for the new season.

This was Armstrong's first appearance for Everton since completing a fruitful loan spell at Derby County last season. He became a key figure in Derby County's midfield in the second half of the Championship season, helping the team avoid relegation and causing the outside world to re-examine the growth and value of this young player.

I think my performance today was okay, but there is still a lot that can be improved."

Facing his future, Armstrong maintains a rational and mature mentality: "The loan at Derby County has made me grow a lot. Now I just want to show more different aspects of myself and hope to leave a good impression on the coach. I take a natural attitude, do my best every day, and see what the future brings."
