Oliver Glasner updates the team ahead of game against Liverpool

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Marc Gueye will miss the final game of the season against Liverpool this Sunday due to injury. Oliver Glasner confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Marc Gueye will miss the game against Liverpool on Sunday due to an eye injury he suffered in the FA Cup final.

Oliver Glasner reiterated that midfielder Adam Walton will remain out, having first revealed the news before the win over Wolves. Two other players remain unsure for the final league game of the season, with defensive duo Nathaniel Clyne and Ben Chilwell missing training due to illness.

Despite the availability challenges facing the team, Oliver Glasner is still looking forward to the new FA Cup champions' battle with the Premier League champions, which he believes will be the perfect finale to the 2024/25 season.

Oliver Glasner said: "Marc Guehi is unable to play and because of this, he has not been selected for the England national team. His eyes need to be fully rested and he is currently unable to carry out any activities. He really needs to rest and cannot play. At the same time, Adam Walton will definitely not play due to concussion."

"Nathaniel Clyne and Ben Chilwell are battling illness but the rest of the squad is fit and ready for the game at Anfield."

Oliver Glasner hopes the team can continue its current form and ensure a strong finish to the season. He said: "Everyone is in good shape in training, the atmosphere in the team is also very relaxed, and everyone is laughing constantly. Although the training intensity may not be the highest, considering that this is a three-game cycle, this rhythm is reasonable."

“It was a final, then we played another game on the Tuesday and then again on the Sunday, so it was a credit to the players for their performance. Of course, the stats after the game showed we ran a full five kilometres more than Wolves.”

"I am very happy with the performance and the result. Now we hope to show our level again at Anfield, so we are looking forward to this game."
