Arsenal officially announced on Sunday that the 26-year-old Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi has transferred from Real Sociedad. The two sides signed a five-year contract, which will expire on June 30, 2030.

According to TA's previous report, the deal was finally reached at a high price of 65 million euros. The amount paid by Arsenal is slightly higher than Zubimendy's 60 million euros release clause and will be paid in installments.

Zubimendi came from the Royal Society youth training and made his first-team debut in the 35th round of La Liga on April 28, 2019. Since then, he has gradually grown into the core of the Real Sociedad midfield. So far, he has made 236 appearances, contributed 10 goals and 9 assists, and won the 2019/20 Copa del Rey with the team.

Thanks to his outstanding performance at the club level, Zubimendi has been given the opportunity to play for his country since June 2021. So far, he has played 19 times for the Spanish team and won the 2023 UEFA Nations League with the team.

After completing the transfer, Zubimendi said: "Once I decided to leave, I immediately set my sights on Arsenal. I think their style of play is very suitable for me."
