18-year-old rising midfielder Preston Fearon had a momentous occasion when he made his senior debut for West Ham United in the Premier League Summer Series against Manchester United.

Although the team lost 1-2 in the end, Phillon's calmness and confidence were impressive. In the post-match interview, Phillon said: "This is a moment that my family and I will remember for the rest of our lives."

"Two months ago I missed the U18 and U21 games due to injury. I never thought I would be standing in such a big occasion, facing Manchester United, the team my family supports. This feeling... is unbelievable."

At the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, facing 40,000 spectators, Phillon was active in the midfield, actively asking for the ball and passing the ball decisively. He revealed that he was able to play so calmly because his teammates and coaches constantly encouraged him before the game.

"Everyone told me that I deserved to be here and told me to believe in myself," Phillon said. "The coach reminded me to be myself when I got on the court. I always remember this sentence. No matter what level of the game I am in, I always want to get the ball. For me, the desire to control the rhythm of the game and take responsibility is part of my playing."

Since being abandoned by Chelsea four years ago and overcoming a back injury, Phillon has regained his confidence at West Ham United. Phillon admitted: "My dad saw from the beginning that I was more relaxed and energetic here. I feel that I am improving in every game and am gradually being recognized, both for my performance on the field and the hard work behind the scenes."
